Banning Slavery

I say we ban slavery, have you seen how slaves were treated, being a slave was a hard and miserable life to be in. Image you had a slave and you have been treating it badly and the slave finally gain it’s freedom and become a very successful person, and you went and ask for help to him/her, would you think him/her would want to help you, no cause how badly you have been treating it, and image how you would feel if you were separated from your family and would never see them again cause that’s how a slave feel like. We should be proud that we have a mother that would kiss you good night or a father who would read you bedtime stories before you went to sleep, because a slave didn't have that so we are very lucky. Slaves were treated like animals, no care, no love, no nothing just hatred.  We are so lucky that having slaves is banned, what if, just what if slavery wasn't banned and this mainly goes out to the girls and you were sold to a man image what the man would want you to do just image, pretty bad aye because people's attitude before was way better and different from attitudes nowadays. We shouldn't have slaves to do things for us, that’s why god gave us hands, legs and a body, to do things ourselves and you wouldn't wannabe a slave who would have to wrap the poo off someone’s bottom or bath a person or dress up someone cause I know I wouldn't want to. I've been a slave once and I know how it feels like to be one. People shouldn't be treated like slaves because we ain't animal we are human being and we have the right to be one.

Netbook Reflection 2013.

This is my reflection about how my netbook has helped me this year and how I have benefited off of it. 

Gospel College.

A group of students and teachers from Gospel College came to our school, to thanks ourselves for making the dream school come true. They preformed to us, and sang lots of Fijian songs. The students of Tamaki Primary enjoyed the performances, there was laughter and joy filled in the hall. They taught us games. We also got to know their names and get to know them well. They taught us how to speak some Fijian word.

  Chorus	The main idea in the chorus is Support, Physical support for your friends.	“Lean on me, when you’re not strong, And I’ll be your friend, I’ll help you carry on..”	“Till i'm gonna need somebody to lean on”	Yes we agree. This is because you need to Support a friend no matter what! Lean on them through tough times...And be by there side.
  Verse 2	The main idea is about its okay to ask for help and telling friends when you need it.	“Please swallow your pride if I have things you need to borrow”	"for no one can fill those of your needs that you won’t let show	I agree with this because, we can ask a friend for help, and maybe your friends will notice how sad you are and come and help us. There is always someone there to help you.
  Verse 3	The main idea is being a caring friend and showing love.	“So just call on me brother when you need a hand”	“We all need somebody to lean on”	Yes we agree,because being able to help people that are in need of help it’s okay to be there for them.
  Verse 4	The main idea in this verse is helping.	If there is a load! you have to bare that you can't carry	I'm right up the road, I'm share your load. Chorus	The chorus main idea is about believing in yourself and being your own strength.	“I’m that little bit of hope when my backs against the rope”	“Hey,I made it I’m the worlds greatest”	I agree that we all have to be our own strength because if our strength is with someone else what would happen to us when we need it.So by seeing ourselves as unique things we can support ourselves.
Verse 2	The main idea in the second verse is I am who I am	“I am a giant, I am an eagle I am a lion down in the jungle..”	“If anybody asks look ‘em in the face and say..”	Yes I agree. This is because it explains who he is and gaining strength to stand up for yourself no matter what others say.
Verse 3	Striving to achieve and love all that is around you	“In the ring of life, I’ll reign love”	“use a success you’ll find in me”	I agree because it defines the pain that people sacrifice to strive to achieve what they wanted and that they’ll share the world with love.
Verse 4	Don’t let any put down, pull you down.	“And faith was right there to pull me through”	“I am that little bit of hope”	I agree that we shouldn't be pull down just because of words, but there are friends out there that can help us.

Dear Myself (16 years old),

                                             I am writing this from the year of 2013, when I am 16 years old. First I want to give you an advice, just three words: don't take drugs. I hope you listen to my advice, I have given you. I hope you have a good friends, so they won't influences you to do bad things. I hope you focus more on your education. If you are making bad decision, I want you to do be that person, be someone who is kind, nice and always chose the right things. I hope you do well in the future. Sorry if this is a short letter.

Essay- What Makes A Good Literacy Programme?

Literacy is about learning how to read and write. Literacy opens doors to our future in finding jobs and communicating with others in life. Without literacy people will finding life difficult in a way they can’t understand each other and it doesn't make sense at all.  A country that has a high level of literacy is a country that cares for its people and its future. We can now see a lot more of how literacy can change life for the better, however literacy is learning to read and write and it contributes to life in a very positive way for us as human beings.

Literacy is very important in life because we are able to read information and instructions of things in life for example, I can understand what the doctor tells me about my health and I can also read the instruction of how to take my pills. Literacy is also important because I understand people around me for example, I can communicate with my nurse when she asks me questions and I can be able to talk to the dentist when he needs me to talk. Literacy is very critical in life otherwise we will be struggling to live especially in this modern world.

Literacy contributes a lot to the success of a country. Some of the developed countries they have very high level of literacy because they understood it brings wealth and success to the country. For example, in Tonga the government has put up a law to ensure that all kids attend school from 5 years old until 16 years old. This is another way of ensuring that everyone gets education and expecting for a better future for family and country as a whole.

Furthermore literacy can change our way of living in terms of the better education we receive the greater the opportunities we have in life.  A lot of people have witnessed how much education can change our lifestyle for example, nowadays people with better education earns more money and they live in a more comfortable life while people who did not have good education they struggle in life and become obliged to the government.  People who have taken literacy more seriously do reap the benefits with greater opportunities in life.

What makes a good reading programme? A good literacy  is when the programme is interesting to every students  in the class and does create a learning environment to both students and teacher. A good reading programme also determines how well the teacher prepares to teach while students are ready to learn.

A quality teacher would have everyone to take part in the reading tasks and get them to also contribute their ideas what they think of the passage they read. A quality teacher would also get them to describe their understanding of the passage so that would allow them to think and develop their ideas. A good writing programme is when students understands what to write and read, how to write and read how it develops their ways of thinking. A Good writing programme is when students show interest by providing feedback and contributing their ideas in terms of forming a good essay of writing a good a story.

Chorus	The main idea in the chorus is realising that reality is no message could’ve been any clearer.	“Take a look at yourself, And then make that change”	“No message could’ve been any clearer”	He is realising that there are people in the world who are in need of more things.
Verse 2	The main idea in verse 2 is realization and recognition.	“Who am I to be blind pretending not to see their needs”	“That’s why I want you to know!”	Yes. We agree with this part of the song because some people focus on vanity and on each others physical appearance instead of reality.

Verse 4 Renee & Chasity	The main idea in this verse is Change.	“I’m gonna make a change...”	“I’ve got to make that change, Today!”	Yes. We agree with this part of the song, because there are many bad things happening in the world, and we have to change it, By making a change in our ways...(In a good way). Make a Change!  If it is to be, It begins with me.

For Reading today, Our group Chapter 7 had to work as a group to complete this task. We were given a task to analyse. The text we were analysing was " War In Waihi".

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2013

Today, we went to the Manaiakalani Film Festival all of the year 1's up to the year 8's. Each senior student had to pick a junior student to be their buddy. Each senior student had to take ownership for they buddy, once we picked our buddy. We went over the rules again and we headed off to the bus. There was three bus waiting for us outside. Each student hoped excitedly to the bus and sit on their seat. We finally got to Sylvia Park, we got inside our room to see the movies. While we were waiting for the movies, we chat to our friends and all of a sudden it was dark. Everyone felt excited, and was waiting to watch the movie. Presenters came and present their movies and we watched. Once that was finish, everyone had a great time at the movies. We got on the bus and headed off to school. Thought the whole day, students have been talking about the time they went to watch the Manaiakalani film festival.

Finders Keepers.

Sometimes you lose stuff and gain stuff but at the end of the day its is important to take care of your belongings or else it will be the finders keepers game.

My Name Is Mina
